Utilizing Body Language, NLP and Super Memory
Thank you for taking the time to study another lesson in my program “How to be a Mentalizer”. My name is Ehud Segev, and if this is the first lesson you read please be sure to subscribe to my program, and start by reading my lessons from the beginning as they build on top of each other. Start HERE on lesson one.
For my existing students, before we move on to new, mind-blowing concepts, let’s sum up what you have learned from the last few episodes: what mentalism is all about and what role the brain and mind play in a mentalizer’s work. We also discussed what basic skills a mentalizer should learn in order to be truly effective: the ability to focus, listen, observe, analyze, and process the verbal and non-verbal information that has been conveyed to him.
Hopefully, all this input, as well as practical exercises outlined in the prior chapters such as clearing your mind, practicing tunnel vision, and active or conscious listening, will help you learn and develop these skills. (Remember: reading about these techniques is fine and dandy, but actually practicing and exercising until they become second nature to you is even more important).
I promise you that if you are diligent, disciplined, and committed to perfecting all these skills to the best of your abilities, your mind will become sharper, more alert, aware, and attuned to everything and everyone around you.
Now, after I mentioned what you actually have to practice in order to become an amazing Mentalizer, to use your mind in ways you’ve never before imagined, many of you got so scared that you immediately unsubscribed from my channel. That’s perfect. We want minimum students. But… Those of you, who aren’t scared of what your mind can create, of the most powerful ways you can leverage your consciousness, those of you who understand that watching too much television, or playing computer games is not going to help you get there, but decluttering your mind will, you, you are the true students I want in my program.
As the 19th century American author so eloquently put it:
“A man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.”Oliver Wendell Holmes
Now, in this lesson you will have an overview of techniques that mentalizers routinely use, so you know what you are getting yourself into! To the untrained and uninformed person, these methods may sound like something out of a sci-fi movie, but the fact is they are “real” and accessible to us here, on earth, as long as we are willing to…stretch our minds to new dimensions! Please stop this video if this is the first episode you’re watching. A lot might not make sense to you. Subscribe to my channel and start watching my lessons from scratch.
If you’ve seen me on stage, I must add that while my shows are pure entertainment and include a lot of gimmicks they are different from the seminars and workshops I teach. You are not learning tricks of how to read someone’s mind. You are learning how to develop your mind to influence the world and make it a better place.
So now, without further ado, I am very excited to unveil to you the keys to the fascinating world of “Real Mentalism.”
A workout for the brain
I came across a quote that says, “Every man can, if he so desires, become the sculptor of his own brain.”
What this means is that we can train, broaden, and empower our brain to be creative, to encompass all kinds of new ideas and experiences, and to open itself to new discoveries. That’s what the expression “thinking outside the box” means.
In today’s episode, I will give you an overview of techniques that might not necessarily be mainstream or conventional, but they are essential tools that, as a mentalizer, you should learn and develop:
- super memory
- body language
- and neuro-linguistic programming or hypnosis.
We will also discuss the “secrets” behind “cold” (as well as “warm” and “hot”) mind reading.
Exciting stuff, isn’t it? I can’t wait to share all these concepts with you!
Then, in the following episodes that will be published in the next few weeks, I will show you how to exercise and practice all of these methods so that you become proficient.
I can almost see some of you roll your eyes and think, “Yeah, right, Ehud is pulling my leg with all this hocus-Pocus.”
Listen: a certain degree of skepticism is a very good thing. You should be smart and discerning about the information given to you, and not just accept something without question. On the other hand, too much skepticism or mistrust can keep you from learning, acquiring new knowledge, and boosting your mind’s power.
I can tell you with certainty that all the techniques mentioned above are genuine, and some have even been used scientifically. So as you start learning about these concepts, keep an open and flexible mind – stretching it as far as you can.
Ready? Let’s begin to sculpt your brain!
Don’t forget to remember!
We’ve all experienced this frustrating feeling: no matter how intensely we try to remember something, we just can’t.
Whether it’s a name of someone we met, a formula we tried to memorize a few months ago or just a thought that we really wanted to remember yesterday. What was that thought? I remember it made so much sense to me and I wanted to write it down, but I forgot… And now.. I have no idea what it was…
It seems like this information has disappeared into some big black hole in our brain, never to surface again. Right?
Of course, the brain doesn’t actually have a hole, black or otherwise, but that’s what it feels like when we lose information we try so hard to retain – whether it is material we learn at school or where we put our car keys.
I mentioned earlier in this program that a mentalizer should be like a good detective, who has sharp observation skills, enabling him to “register,” analyze, and process all the clues he finds. To accomplish these tasks, the detective must rely on super memory of all the verbal and non-verbal information that is conveyed to him. But if the detective has poor memory and can’t remember some (or any) of the clues, he is not going to be very good at his job.
The good news is that everyone has a potential for limitless and infinite memory – we just have to learn to maximize it. In the next episode, I will guide you, step-by-step, in this development process. So make sure you don’t miss my next lesson… But for now, let’s concentrate on a new language…
Do you speak body language?
No? Well, you should start getting fluent in it because body language speaks louder than words. Yes, really!
While words can mislead us, non-verbal communication through facial expressions, gestures, posture, speech patterns, and eye movements doesn’t lie. In fact, we unconsciously send out thousands of these signals each day.
If you ask me, the understanding of this non-verbal mode of communication is very important, but very few of us actually make an effort to learn it. Fortunately, you don’t have to be a linguist to interpret the meaning behind body language or, for that matter, control your own non-verbal signals that you send out to others.
This is such a fascinating field and I am really excited to show you, in one of the forthcoming episodes of my program, how to interpret body language like a pro!
Molding the brain
Would you like to be able to influence human behavior in a positive and meaningful way? Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) sounds very “sciency,” but don’t let that discourage you from learning at least the basics of this powerful technique. Now, we all have issues and problems in our daily lives, whether we are cigarette smokers, or we can’t make it to the gym or sit down to study for the test… Or we get pissed off really easily, or just can’t laugh because everything seems so sad around… You or the people around you, have tons of issues. And it’s absolutely fine, but we can make it better. We can help… ourselves, and the people around us.
We will discuss the details in a few other episodes that will be fully dedicated to this subject, but just to give you an idea of what the NLP is all about, it “programs” or “models” your mind to overcome frustrating habits and behaviors in your personal and professional life, and helps you set the kind of goals that will lead to success and satisfaction. For yourself, and for others.
Considering the positive patterns and great results that the NLP helps you create and achieve, it is certainly a valuable technique to master. So stay tuned!
What’s on your mind?
“Mind reading” – doesn’t it sound mysterious and fascinating at the same time?
In popular culture, this particular concept, which we will explain in a forthcoming episode, conjures up images of psychics and seers, but in reality it has a lot to do with human psychology. An offshoot of this is a “cold,” “warm,” or “hot reading,” all of which will also be explored later on.
I promised to reveal to you all the keys to mentalism, and I will! You just have to be patient, open-minded, and eager to learn and practice each one of them. Again, I assume that many of you feel that the knowledge and tools I’m sharing with you are a bit too much. You guys can unsubscribe and I will still love you… But for those of you out there who are eager to learn, to master, to become the best mentalizer they can, I’m excited to have you here with me.
As you keep studying and learning, I hope you will take an extra step to help me improve as well. How? share your comments and ideas with me and with the rest of the world. I rely on your feedback to keep this program on the right track – informative, educational, and enjoyable, all at the same time! So please, take a moment to add your thoughts in the comments below or email me and don’t forget to subscribe and like this video on YouTube so I’ll be able to keep creating more content for you.
My name is Ehud Segev and I am the Mentalizer. Until next time, keep practicing!
